Over the years, we have recognized a need to identify resources that can serve to edify members of our church. Below is a list of books the elders feel meet this need. It is essential to mention that we believe no book authored by a person can fill the role the Bible plays in the life of a believer. The Bible is the sole source of truth, and we, as followers of Christ, commit ourselves to the careful study of God's inerrant and inspired Word. It alone holds a place of premier importance and must serve as the complete and final authority in the lives of a believer. Doctrines and beliefs must come from the Scriptures, and we must pay careful attention to the fact that our systems of beliefs must not be formed from outside books, and they must not shape our view of Scripture.
With this said, we recognize there are materials written by those who have taken great care to read and study Scripture and have gone on to produce books that can assist believers in studying the Word, give insight into the background of the Scriptures, or recount the lives of the faithful, which can be an encouragement. These are tools to aid in unpacking the Word and not a replacement by any means.
Below, you will find such resources. It is important to note that the inclusion of books on this list does not endorse every doctrinal position of the author. A book's inclusion merely affirms a particular book's helpfulness in a specific area. Everything must be evaluated through the lens of the Bible.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact one of the elders. They would be happy to recommend additional resources.
