We pray that this email finds you safe in the aftermath of Hurricane Milto

By God’s grace, our church building survived the storm largely unscathed. The church has power, and we will be able to hold our regular worship services this Sunday. Unfortunately, our school building and gym did not fare as well.

During the storm, both our school building and gym flooded. Also, as of now, neither the school building nor the gym has power. Regardless of the power situation, the first floor of the school and the gym are currently unusable. We are working diligently to determine how best to mitigate the damages and restore our school facilities for our regular school and church activities. For at least the next week, Lakeside Christian School will be closed to allow us to move forward with the remediation and restoration work.

Since the church building is fully functional, we will have our regular 10:40 a.m. worship service and our 6:00 p.m. worship service this Sunday. However, since the school and gym are not useable, this Sunday morning, we will NOT have our regular adult and children’s Sunday school classes (The 2’s and 3’s classes and the nursery will be available during the 10:40 a.m. service). We will try to return to our normal Sunday school schedule as soon as feasible, and we will update you with a proposed schedule when we have a better estimate of when the work will be completed.  The challenges we face with this storm damage are substantial, and we are praying fervently for the Lord’s favor in navigating this challenging situation.

To that end, in lieu of our regular Sunday school schedule, we will be having a special all-church prayer meeting this Sunday morning (October 13) at 9:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary. We will be praying specifically for this situation and its effects on our church and school. We encourage you to join us so that we can pray together for the Lord’s wisdom and provision as we walk through this trial.

10/9/2024 ( 9:10 AM)

Due to forecasted changes to Hurricane Milton, we have decided to cancel the Friday morning men's Bible study and postpone the Honoring Our Seniors Dinner. The new date for this event will be forthcoming after the storm passes.

Thank you for your understanding. We will continue to update you on further changes. Please continue to lift up everyone who will be affected by this storm.

10/8/2024 ( 10:40 AM)

Due to the updated forecast on Hurricane Milton's track, the church office will remain closed on Thursday, 10/10/2024. We are also canceling all ministry activities for Thursday. We ask that you please continue to pray for all those this storm will impact.

10/7/2024 ( 11:44 AM)

Based on the National Hurricane Center's current projections, Hurricane Milton will likely bring severe weather to our area this week. The exact location of the probable landfall is not known with certainty, but we will undoubtedly experience some of the hurricane's impacts. Only the Lord knows how severe those impacts will be.
For the protection of our church family and to allow everyone to focus on preparation and/or evacuation ahead of the storm, we will be closing the church office on Tuesday and Wednesday. Likewise, we are canceling all ministry activities scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. Later in the week, we will decide on our schedule for Thursday and Friday and will send out the appropriate notifications.
Thank you for your understanding. Please continue to pray for all those affected by this storm.
