A significant issue of one's personal Christian walk is how the believer practices giving to God through giving to their church monetarily. Below are some principles from the New Testament that LCC believes and teaches that guide our giving:

  1. The purpose of our giving is to satisfy the needs of others so that God will be worshiped and glorified. (2 Corinthians 9:10-14)
  2. We should give voluntarily and systematically. This helps us avoid covetousness and impulsive giving. (1 Corinthians 16:1; 2 Corinthians 9:5)
  3. Our attitude is one of cheerfulness and joy, not under any kind of compulsion by another. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
  4. We believe in giving sacrificially. (2 Corinthians 8:1-11)

As New Testament believers, we are commanded to give as God has prospered us. Therefore, we believe in "grace giving," which means that we give to honor the Lord-the amount of the gift is a private matter between each individual believer and God. An offering is received at our regularly scheduled Sunday service and online, and a complete financial accounting of our church is available for anyone to examine upon request.
